Holocaust memory for today
Today, Holocaust Remembrance Day is more relevant than ever, when we realize that hellish, bestial and inhuman violence continues to be possible.
We must remember that Hitler in “Mein Kampf” (1923) repeated that the Jews were like an infection that contaminated the society, an unnatural pathology, a parasite upon the nations, liars conspiring against the world, sinners with satanic joy in their faces. He didn't say directly that you have to kill them. He said only that the “healthy” society must be defended from them. Elimination results from that description of “pathology”.
We must reflect about it when neo-fascism is growing and when religions keep on stigmatizing minorities using the same language.
